I ran across a blog last week, by accident. Maybe it wasn’t really an accident. Maybe it was just meant to happen that way. In 2009, I was brought into this very dramatic, somewhat vicious circle of people, by a person who pulled my heartstrings. That alone is a very interesting choice of word, given who the person was and the circumstances. Off and on things have happened and this person has kept me at arms length. Every time I tried to push away, there were reasons to bring me back in. Seeing what this other woman went through and posted on her blog, there were some definite similarities. It freaked me out because she was talking about the exact same person. I have tried over and over to just push things out of my mind and my heart. I thought I had built up this wall. I post things on here that pretty much act like I’m alright and that I’m not really jaded by all of it. My feelings were tucked away, and ever since I read this one particular blog post, that wall that I had built up crumbled right down. I don’t know if I can rebuild it. I don’t know if I want to. I am vulnerable and that is terrifying,
We adopted these two beautiful Shetland ponies. They arrived today from West Virginia. My cousin brought them up. The blonde is the mother of the other one. Her name is Mabel and she is 8 years old. The darker pony is Ciara, she’s 3. They are both very sweet, but were a bit nervous when they first arrived. My cousin had them at her family’s home for a month, fostering them until they found a forever home. Apparently the former owners were not so kind to them and they weren’t tended to as needed. They did let us hand feed them this evening, which was awesome because we weren’t sure how nervous they’d be.
I’m not sure who groomed them, but their manes need to grow back. Their coats are beautiful though. (Yes, we did get the lead off of Ciara. When my cousin opened the trailer, she bolted out of the gate. lol)
My cousin Ry signing with the Tampa Bay Rays. So excited for him! He’s following in his father Tim’s footsteps, and our entire family couldn’t be more proud! Good luck and lots of love, Cuz!!!!
*Also, I’m kinda excited to be the first person on Tumblr to tag the name Unroe, which is my maiden name. :)
